One of the worlds most popular black teas. This tea rides on the coat tales of other well known green teas produced from the same area of China. ​​Known in Mandarin as “Qi Men”. The combination of sweet, fruity, and floral notes, along with its smooth texture, makes Keemun a favourite among black tea enthusiasts.

Story

The first black tea in the Qimen country, this particular tea is considered to be one of the most popular black teas in the world. It's widely included in English Breakfast blends but better consumed on its own in order to get a full taste of this slightly smoky tea with lovely sweet notes and rare undertones.

Up until the mid 1870's, the Qimen county which is located in Anhui Province. This province to some Westerners might be better remembered for Yellow Mountain and/or the famous movie starring Chow Yun-fat in ‘Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon’. This province used to specialise exclusively in some of China’s best known green teas until the first black tea factories were introduced using knowledge sourced from Fujian province. It turned out to be widely successful and became one of the most well-known types of black tea in the world. 

The unique slow withering process that was developed from making this black tea helps cement the flavour known throughout the world for its unique combination of sweet, fruity, and floral notes, along with its smooth texture.
