The flavour is characteristic of a lot of black teas, in both appearance and taste. Story

Produced from the super fine needle bush. Often referred to as Red Bush tea in Europe. This tea has been drunk for centuries back in South Africa known by the natives for its healing properties. Rooibos is now the fastest growing flavour in the herbal tea category market in Europe right now.

Processing Method

Originally processed much like the traditional Pu’er tea leaves. Harvested up in high mountains then brought down by donkey in hessian sacks and bruised with hammers and axes and left to ferment in sacks and then dried under the suns rays. In the early 20th Century, Ginsberg a local Botanist began to experiment using Chinese tea processing methods much like the Keemun tea from Anhui province to produce these beautifully smooth earthy notes which we now associate with Rooibos
