White Peony King

White Peony King

Unlike a green tea, the white teas are not subjected to any "rolling" in the processing of the leaf. This is often locked in with the unique notes of the tea, only awakened after slightly longer brewing times. This tea has nutty sweet finish with some lychee notes on the very initial month feel. The finish is brooding and offers similarities to that of a fine cognac.

This area of white tea cultivation borders both Fujian and Zhejiang. Each province likes to claim this tea as their own. Its often referred to as the tea with the least amount of caffeine.

Processing Method

Steamed and dried. Once the tea leaves are cooked they immediately undergo a firing process to stop further oxidization and/or party fermentation.
