Speciality black tea that is harvest with only one batch created each year. This tea is unique in being halfway between a black and an Oolong tea.
This wonderfully floral black tea is grown in a small town called Mei Li by a lovely local named Mr. Wang. His son has actually taken over most of the family tea business, but Mr. Wang always reminds us Tea Journeys staff that the black tea is the “secret elixir to living a healthy age” Mr Wang has now been giving the very important village post of care taker of the Confucius Temple that stands by the statue of Hai Guan in the centre of the village over looking the peaceful river.
His son farms the more recognised and easy to sell ‘Iron Goddess of Mercy’ – that are more well known strains of the Oolong style processing of tea. Instead, Mr Wang’s lets us in on a little secret of his exemplary teas he shares with very few. The flavour is so mellow for a black tea, its grown at high altitude so retains a natural sweetness and offers health to the body in a myriad of ways that can only be “fully appreciated by choosing to sit, drink, listen and meditate on your state of mind” as Mr Wang also tells us.
