The Story
Hojicha is a unique and distinctive Japanese green tea known for its roasted flavor and reddish-brown colour. Its story involves a departure from traditional green tea processing methods and a focus on creating a tea with a warm, toasty character. Hojicha's origins can be traced back to Kyoto, Japan, in the 1920s. It was created as a way to utilise the leaves and stems leftover from the production of higher-grade green teas like sencha and bancha. Hojicha-flavoured products, including hojicha lattes and desserts, have become popular in various culinary contexts, and in recent years has gained popularity beyond Japan by enthusiasts worldwide.

To keep your teas fresh, always store them well-sealed in a cool, dry, and dark place and generally as a guideline we recommend consuming within 3 years of purchase.
