The story of this tea is shrouded in myth and legend. A delightful combination of soft, smokey notes, with a deep, rich, slightly sweet and malty body, our wonderfully flavourful Russian Caravan is as bold as its history in its voyage from China to Europe.

The Story
Like many tea blends with untold journeys that became their unspoken identity, this tea, transported to Europe from China through a northern route via Russia, was a treacherous and perilous expedition. Caravan leaders braved extreme cold, rugged mountain paths, encounters with wild bears, and the constant threat of bandits armed with knives and clubs, all with the precious cargo of tea at stake.
Our wonderfully flavourful tea blend pays homage to this storied heritage and the hardworking farmers who tirelessly cultivate these teas. Our special Russian Caravan blend features Lapsang Souchong, smoked with pine cone needles from Anhui, Oriental Red Robe (Oolong) from Fujian, our unique Keemun black from Anhui, and a touch of organic Assam for added body and boldness.

Water Temperature: Heating water to the correct temperature for the type of tea you're brewing ensures optimal flavour extraction without scalding the leaves. (Refer to product page)
Steeping Time: Allowing the tea leaves to steep for the appropriate duration ensures the right balance of flavours and avoids bitterness or a weak taste.
Proportion: Using the right amount of tea leaves relative to the amount of water ensures that the flavorus are neither too strong nor too weak, providing a well-balanced cup of tea.

How long does your tea stay fresh?
Short answer. It depends on the tea and how it is stored. To keep your teas fresh, always store them well-sealed in a cool, dry, and dark place and generally as a guideline we recommend consuming within 3 years of purchase.
How much caffeine is there in a cup of tea?
There are many things that affect the caffeine content of your cup of tea including water temperature and steeping time. However, can guarantee that our herbal teas are caffeine-free.
