The Story

Sencha is said to have originated in the early 18th century during the Edo period in Japan. Prior to the popularity of sencha, the common method of preparing tea in Japan was to steam the tea leaves. Sencha introduced the process of pan-frying or steaming the leaves, a method that preserved the tea's vibrant green colour. It is known grassy flavor with a hint of sweetness. It has a balanced profile that is both refreshing and invigorating, and can be enjoyed hot and cold.
