White tea, in general, has ancient origins, with references dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE) in China. However, the specific development of White Peony tea is more recent. White Peony tea originated in the Fujian province of China. The region is renowned for its tea production and has a long history of cultivating and processing different tea varieties. The tea is made from the leaves and buds of the tea plant (Camellia Sinensis). The plucking process involves selecting a bud and two leaves, often including the newest growth. White Peony tea, like other premium teas, was historically considered a tribute tea. It was often presented as a gift to emperors and officials due to its high quality and special characteristics. In recent years, White Peony tea has gained popularity beyond China and is now enjoyed by tea enthusiasts worldwide. Its light and refreshing qualities make it a sought-after choice for those looking to explore different tea varieties.

Short answer. It depends on the tea and how it is stored.
To keep your teas fresh, always store them well-sealed in a cool, dry, and dark place and generally as a guideline we recommend consuming within 3 years of purchase.
How much caffeine is there in a cup of tea?
The caffeine content of tea varies depending on factors like water temperature and steeping time. On average:
Black tea: 40-70 mg per cup
Green tea: 20-45 mg per cup
Oolong tea: 30-50 mg per cup
