White Peony tea originated in the Fujian province of China. The region is renowned for its tea production and has a long history of cultivating and processing different tea varieties. The tea is made from the leaves and buds of the tea plant (Camellia Sinensis). The plucking process involves selecting a bud and two leaves, often including the newest growth. White Peony tea, like other premium teas, was historically considered a tribute tea. It was often presented as a gift to emperors and officials due to its high quality and special characteristics. In recent years, White Peony tea has gained popularity beyond China and is now enjoyed by tea enthusiasts worldwide. To keep your teas fresh, always store them well-sealed in a cool, dry, and dark place and generally as a guideline we recommend consuming within 3 years of purchase.
