The province is home to ancient tea trees, and tea cultivation has been a part of Yunnan's history for centuries. Yunnan Green Tea is typically made from the leaves of these ancient tea trees. The processing involves plucking young, tender leaves and buds. The leaves are subjected to minimal oxidation, preserving the tea's green colour and imparting a distinct flavour profile. Yunnan has a rich and diverse tea culture, with various ethnic groups contributing to the cultivation and processing of tea. To keep your teas fresh, always store them well-sealed in a cool, dry, and dark place and generally as a guideline we recommend consuming within 3 years of purchase.
