The Story
Peppermint ‘Tea’, made from the dried leaves of the peppermint plant (Mentha × piperita), has a long history of use and is appreciated for its refreshing flavour and potential health benefits. Peppermint has been used for various purposes for centuries. Its origins can be traced back to ancient Egypt, where dried peppermint leaves have been found in the pyramids dating back to 1000 BC. The Greeks and Romans also valued peppermint for its medicinal properties and used it in various remedies. Peppermint tea gained popularity in Europe during the 18th century. It was embraced for its pleasant taste, digestive benefits, and the calming effects of its menthol content.

Short answer. It depends on the tea and how it is stored.
To keep your teas fresh, always store them well-sealed in a cool, dry, and dark place and generally as a guideline we recommend consuming within 3 years of purchase.
How much caffeine is there in a cup of tea?
The caffeine content of tea varies depending on factors like water temperature and steeping time. On average:
Black tea: 40-70 mg per cup
Green tea: 20-45 mg per cup
Oolong tea: 30-50 mg per cup
White tea: 15-30 mg per cup
Yellow tea: 30-50 mg per cup
Herbal: 0 mg (naturally caffeine-free)
